课程采用的翻译实例全部来源于主讲教师多年来翻译的文学作品、学术著作、以及社科、法律、科技、医药、政府文件等材料，这些实例经过全面细致的分析，向学习者展现了翻译的过程和翻译技巧的综合、灵活运用。这样的翻译实战经验分享和细致入微的分析可以有效帮助学习者掌握英汉互译方法与技巧。

课程在注重语言的理解和表达的同时，强调翻译中的文化意识以及对源语文化和译入语文化的理解在翻译中的重要作用。
