Anyone thinking about taking an English language test, such as IELTS, will find this course particularly useful, but all English language learners will benefit from the tips and advice given in the course.
The course focuses on the IELTS test (International English Language Testing System). IELTS is the world’s most popular English language test for higher education and global migration. IELTS is accepted by over 10,000 organisations worldwide including universities, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies. Over 3 million IELTS tests were taken globally last year.
This course will take you through each stage of the IELTS test — reading, writing, speaking and listening. At each stage there will be advice from our video tutor and a team of experienced IELTS educators. You will also be asked to share your experiences, tips and opinions with other learners.
By the end of the Understanding IELTS course, you will:
be familiar with all parts of the IELTS test
have some useful tips to help you achieve your IELTS goals
understand how the IELTS test is assessed
have an opportunity to have your written and spoken English assessed by other learners

1.我需要有怎样的英语水平才可以听懂这个公开课？
此公开课面向所有母语不是英语的初中级学习者（约为"欧洲语言共同参考框架"中的B1 级）。
2. 整个公开课都是免费吗？
是的，整个公开课都是免费提供的。
3. 课程开始的时间是？
课程开课时间为2015年5月11日。现已全面开放报名。立即报名
4. 课程是直播还是录播？我如果不在英国，会不会有时差问题？
你可以按照自己合适的时间，循序渐进地参加课程。课程的录像会放在网上，可以随时观看，不受地点的限制。
5. 参加课程是否需要准备网络摄像头？
不需要。因为课程中没有实时视频对话，所以不需要准备网络摄像头。
6. 课程的授课形式？
整个公开课都通过网络授课。每一个环节都包括一系列的步骤，你可以按照自己适合的节奏学习。每个主题大约需要你规划出约2个小时的学习时间。
7.完成公开课后如何申请证书？
如果你完成了50%以上公开课的课件，你就可以申请课程结业证明（注：课程结业证明为付费服务）
8.课程中的在线讨论是以评论还是视频通话的方式实现？
课程中的在线讨论是以评论的方式，在课程的网页上呈现的，不是视频通话。在绝大多数的课程中，学生都可以通过发表评论的方式提问。
9.参加公开课是否有年龄要求？
FutureLearn要求注册会员的年龄不低于13岁。家长可以用自己的姓名注册，并在课程中监督孩子的学习过程。
10.英语教师是否可以参加公开课？
欢迎英语教师参加，并积极与学习者讨论。
11.是否有机会和英语是母语的人对话？
英国文化教育协会的老师都是英语为母语的专业教师，一些课程的学习者也可能是母语为英语的，你可以通过这个公开课与世界各地的英语学习者沟通交流。
